Echinacea SOMBRERO® ‘Lemon Yellow Improved’ (Coneflower)
Echinacea SOMBRERO® ‘Lemon Yellow Improved’ is a vibrant, sun-loving perennial that brings long-lasting color and cheerful energy to the summer garden. Part of the reliable SOMBRERO® Series, this improved variety features larger, wider, and more overlapping golden-yellow petals surrounding a coppery-orange cone. Its compact, well-branched habit ensures a sturdy, uniform plant loaded with blooms that last from early summer into fall.
Built for performance, ‘Lemon Yellow Improved’ bulks up quickly, requires no vernalization to flower, and thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Once established, it’s drought tolerant and low maintenance — a perfect choice for pollinator gardens, sunny borders, and landscape plantings. The spent blooms add winter texture and provide valuable seed for finches and other birds.
Why It’s a Creekside Champion™:
We love SOMBRERO® ‘Lemon Yellow Improved’ for its bold, sunlit color, compact habit, and dependable bloom power that brings pollinators — and joy — to the garden all season long.
