Storm Cloud Bluestar
Amsonia tabernaemontana ‘Storm Cloud’
A standout native perennial celebrated for its dramatic foliage and dependable performance. In spring, near-black stems emerge topped with very dark green leaves accented by silvery veins, creating bold contrast in the landscape. In late spring to early summer, clusters of soft periwinkle-blue, star-shaped flowers cover the plant and continue blooming for weeks. Its wide, mounded habit offers strong garden presence through summer and into fall, making it an excellent shrub substitute in mixed borders. Easy to grow, heat and humidity tolerant, and deer resistant, Storm Cloud Bluestar is a low-maintenance choice for both northern and southern gardens.
