Unlike traditional climbing clematis, it grows as a tidy clump and dies back to the ground each winter, returning reliably each spring. Blooming from late spring through summer, it attracts bees and butterflies while resisting deer and rabbits.
Perfect for borders, containers, or as a specimen, this clematis benefits from staking, cages, or neighboring plants for support. It performs best in full sun to part sun, with roots kept cool and shaded, and prefers average, well-drained, slightly alkaline soil.
