Plant Needs
Sophy Zucchini blends the traditional ribbed Costata Romanesco look with modern performance. Plants are more upright and mostly spineless, making harvest easier and more comfortable throughout the season.
This hybrid offers improved yields and added resistance to common zucchini viruses — particularly helpful in warm, humid regions. The open plant structure allows for better airflow and visibility, helping gardeners spot fruit at the ideal harvest stage.
Fruit is best picked young, around 6–8 inches long, when flavor is tender and texture is fine. Sophy is also excellent for harvesting small zucchini with blossoms still attached for fresh market or kitchen use.
For consistent production through summer, succession plant every 2–3 weeks.
