Description
Description
The Mountain Snow™ Pieris is a compact evergreen shrub that brings year-round interest to the garden. In spring, fresh bronze foliage matures into glossy dark green, providing a lush backdrop through the seasons. By summer, graceful pendulous buds form and remain decorative through winter, opening in early spring to cascades of creamy ivory flowers. Growing 3–4 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide, Mountain Snow maintains a neat, refined habit that works beautifully in containers, mass plantings, or shaded borders.
Unlike many Pieris varieties, Mountain Snow shows improved heat tolerance, making it an excellent choice for gardeners in warmer regions within its hardiness range. Its multi-season appeal, compact size, and easy-care nature make it a standout performer for shade gardens.
Why We Love It
At Creekside, we love shrubs that bridge the seasons gracefully, and Mountain Snow is exactly that. From the bronze tones of its spring foliage to its decorative winter buds and early spring flowers, it provides beauty every month of the year. Its compact size and added heat tolerance give gardeners more flexibility with a plant that was once tricky to grow in warmer climates.
