Nepeta 'Purple Haze'
Common Name: Catmint
Nepeta 'Purple Haze' brings a unique look to the garden with its low, spreading habit, silvery foliage, and striking purple-blue flower spikes. Unlike more traditional upright catmints, this exceptional perennial forms a wide, soft mat of foliage topped with blooms that resemble miniature butterfly bush flowers, creating an airy sweep of color across the landscape.
Beginning in early summer, 'Purple Haze' produces an abundance of purple-blue flowers that continue well into fall. Growing just 4 inches tall and spreading up to 30 inches wide, it creates impressive coverage while maintaining a clean, tidy appearance. Its low-growing habit makes it especially effective along the front of sunny borders, cascading over banks, filling open spaces as a groundcover, or weaving through rock gardens.
Thriving in full sun, 'Purple Haze' provides months of color with very little maintenance. Its combination of silvery foliage, long-lasting blooms, and versatile spreading habit makes it an easy way to soften garden edges and add beautiful texture throughout sunny planting areas.
Why it's a Creekside Champion™
Nepeta 'Purple Haze' earns its place as a Creekside Champion™ with its exceptionally long bloom season, distinctive spreading habit, and effortless garden performance. Purple-blue flower spikes rise above a beautiful mat of silvery foliage from early summer through fall, providing months of dependable color without becoming messy or requiring constant maintenance. Its ability to spread up to 30 inches while remaining only a few inches tall makes it especially valuable as a flowering groundcover or border plant. Versatile, dependable, and remarkably easy to grow, 'Purple Haze' delivers the lasting beauty and proven performance worthy of a Creekside Champion.
