Description
Monarda UPSCALE™ ‘Lavender Taffeta’ (Bee Balm)
Monarda UPSCALE™ ‘Lavender Taffeta’ is an elegant addition to sunny borders and pollinator gardens, offering large, dark lavender blooms accented by lighter picotee edges for a soft, bi-colored effect. The rich flowers sit above glossy, dark green foliage, creating a refined yet vibrant presence in the summer landscape. Standing 22–26 inches tall and spreading up to 30 inches wide, this variety forms a full, upright clump covered in blooms from mid to late summer, with a second flush extending the show into fall.
Part of the UPSCALE™ series, ‘Lavender Taffeta’ is prized for its excellent mildew resistance and strong, well-branched stems that keep the plant looking fresh and full. A native perennial, it thrives in full sun to part shade and adapts easily to moist or average soil conditions. The fragrant blooms attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators while resisting deer.
