Kniphofia POCO™ ‘Red’
Common Name: Red Hot Poker
Kniphofia POCO™ ‘Red’ brings bold, fiery color to the garden in a compact, easy-to-use package. Vibrant coral-red flower spikes rise above tidy, grass-like foliage, creating an eye-catching display without taking up a lot of valuable garden space. Reaching just 14 inches wide with flowers standing approximately 20 inches tall, it is an excellent choice for smaller landscapes and containers.
Beginning in midsummer, POCO™ ‘Red’ produces its nectar-rich blooms and continues flowering well into fall. The striking upright flowers provide months of warm color from July through October while attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.
Plant POCO™ ‘Red’ in full sun where its vivid blooms can take center stage. Its compact habit makes it easy to incorporate along sunny borders, in mixed perennial beds, or as a colorful thriller in container combinations.
Why it's a Creekside Champion™
Kniphofia POCO™ ‘Red’ earns its place as a Creekside Champion™ because it packs outstanding flower power into a compact plant. We especially appreciate its long bloom season, extending from the heat of summer well into fall, and the brilliant coral-red flowers that provide both garden color and a valuable nectar source for pollinators. Its manageable size makes it versatile enough for gardeners with limited space while still creating a bold impact in larger landscapes. With reliable perennial performance, months of blooms, and excellent pollinator appeal, POCO™ ‘Red’ is the kind of hardworking plant we love recommending.
