HEDGE BOX® Japanese Holly
Ilex crenata
HEDGE BOX® Japanese Holly is an outstanding boxwood alternative, combining year-round beauty with superior resilience and ease of care. This evergreen forms a super-dense, upright habit that’s ideal for narrow hedges, foundation plantings, or formal borders — all without the risk of boxwood blight or moth damage. Unlike typical Ilex crenata varieties, its flat leaves discourage spider mites, ensuring consistently healthy foliage throughout the season.
Fast-growing, hardy, and beautifully uniform, HEDGE BOX® thrives in full to part sun and has proven exceptional cold tolerance in Michigan trial gardens. Its neat, compact growth habit requires minimal pruning, making it a smart and stylish choice for modern landscapes.
