Description
Description
If you’re searching for a rugged, reliable shrub that doesn’t skimp on beauty, meet Kodiak® Orange Diervilla. This native gem is tough enough for sun or shade, drought, deer, and even dry, tricky spots under trees. And while it's hard-working behind the scenes, it’s all show in the spotlight—starting with cheerful yellow blooms in early summer that attract pollinators, followed by vibrant orange new growth that deepens into a glowing red-orange display in the fall.
It’s the perfect eco-friendly alternative to burning bush, offering similar seasonal flair without the invasiveness. Whether you’re filling a difficult shady area, building a native-friendly bed, or just want a low-maintenance shrub that shows up and shines, Kodiak Orange is ready to do the job.
Why we love it:
-
Grows in dry shade—yes, really! (Though sun boosts that fall color.)
-
Cheerful yellow summer blooms support pollinators
-
Brilliant orange-red foliage in fall for a fiery finale
