Thalictrum ‘Cotton Ball’ (Meadow Rue)
‘Cotton Ball’ is a graceful and airy Meadow Rue that brings height, texture, and movement to the garden. A companion to the popular ‘Cotton Candy,’ this variety trades lavender-pink blooms for clean, crisp white flowers held on dark, contrasting stems. Finely textured foliage forms a narrow, upright pillar, making this an excellent choice for tight spaces or areas needing vertical interest.
Why it’s a Creekside Champion™:
In early to midsummer, clouds of delicate white blossoms appear in soft sprays, attracting bees and butterflies and lasting beautifully in cut arrangements. With its elegant presence and reliable performance, ‘Cotton Ball’ adds refinement to cottage gardens, prairie-style plantings, and mixed borders. Deer and rabbits generally leave it alone, making it a low-fuss favorite for many landscapes.
