BUCKHEAD BOLD™ is perfectly suited to Southern gardens and landscapes with its big, bold, blue-green foliage and bronze new growth.  Developed at the University of Georgia by Dr. Donglin Zhang, it makes a great replacement for larger boxwoods or hollies.  Plant BUCKHEAD BOLD™ in mass to create a low-growing evergreen hedge or along your foundation for year-round structure.  This beautiful distylium also makes a fabulous container planting! Small, red flowers appear in late winter for a fun pop of color.

Abelia are easy care plants that need little regular maintenance. It can be lightly trimmed to shape in spring after the new growth begins to emerge if you wish. If you decide to prune in the summer, you'll likely remove some flowers.

Fun Facts: 

Grows quite quickly! If you get a small plant to start with, be sure to trim it back a few times the first year after it has gotten established. This will inevitably sacrifice some flowers, but you'll get a better habit.
