Arborvitae Fire Chief™

Meet the Fire Chief Arborvitae, a compact evergreen that packs a big punch of year-round color. This naturally rounded shrub keeps a soft, globe shape without the fuss of constant pruning, making it one of the easiest evergreens to love. From season to season, Fire Chief changes its wardrobe: bright golden tips in spring, glowing orange tones through summer, and rich reds that carry into fall and winter. Even in the quiet months, it shines with warm, cheerful color.

Why We Love It

At Creekside, we’re drawn to plants that bring both beauty and ease — and Fire Chief does exactly that. Its naturally tidy form means no shears required, and its resilient nature stands up to sun and wind. We especially love how it plays well with others: set against blue junipers, deep hollies, or burgundy foliage, Fire Chief lights up the landscape like a little lantern. Whether in the ground or in a favorite porch container, it delivers dependable glow with almost no effort.

Reaching a friendly 2–4 feet tall and wide, Fire Chief is perfectly sized for tucking into foundation beds, adding rhythm in a border, or lining a garden path. In containers, it becomes a four-season focal point, bringing color and cheer right up to the front door.

Give it a sunny spot, average soil with good drainage, and a drink while it gets settled in. After that, this arborvitae is as low-maintenance as they come — just a little fertilizer in spring and a deep drink before winter sets in.

With its glowing hues and natural polish, the Fire Chief Arborvitae is a low-effort, high-reward evergreen that brings a pop of color and joy every single season.
