Description
Description
The Roman Candle® Podocarpus brings elegance and durability together in one reliable shrub. Its eye-catching variegated foliage emerges in shades of white to light green before maturing to a rich, glossy green. With an upright, columnar habit, Roman Candle reaches 10–15 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, making it an excellent choice for hedges, narrow privacy plantings, or as a vertical accent in the garden.
This podocarpus is a tough performer, thriving in full sun to part shade and tolerating heat, humidity, and urban conditions. It also resists deer, pests, and disease, making it a low-maintenance option for gardeners who want beauty without extra effort. Evergreen foliage ensures year-round presence, keeping landscapes polished in every season.
Why We Love It
At Creekside, we love shrubs that deliver structure and style with almost no fuss, and Roman Candle does just that. Its upright form is perfect for tight spaces, while the luminous variegated new growth adds a touch of brightness. Combine its durability with its refined look, and you have a plant that works as hard as it shines.
