Description
Description
Penstemon 'Dark Amethyst'
Penstemon 'Dark Amethyst' is a long-blooming perennial that brings rich color and pollinator activity to sunny gardens. Striking reddish-purple flowers rise above dark green foliage from late spring through summer, creating an eye-catching display that hummingbirds especially love.
Growing 18–22 inches tall with a mounded habit, 'Dark Amethyst' is a versatile size for perennial borders, mass plantings, and mixed landscapes. Its colorful flower spikes also make beautiful cut flowers and add vertical interest without overwhelming neighboring plants.
With native roots in the Southwest, this North American native is heat tolerant and well suited for sunny garden spaces. It is easy to maintain, grows well in average to fertile soil, and attracts both bees and hummingbirds throughout its long bloom season.
