Description
Description
Few plants bring year-round magic quite like this shrubby Japanese Maple, prized for its delicate texture and ever-changing foliage. In early spring, finely dissected leaves emerge a soft yellow, quickly edged with pink like a watercolor painting come to life. As summer unfolds, those margins shift to creamy white with hints of reddish-orange, giving the whole shrub a warm, glowing effect. Just when you think it couldn’t get better, fall sweeps in and the foliage ignites in shades of fiery orange-red before settling into a rich red-violet.
Developed by the talented Mr. van Meuwen and Mr. Keijzer of the Netherlands, this standout was a finalist in the RHS Plant of the Year competition at the Chelsea Flower Show—a testament to its beauty and performance. Whether as a focal point in a border, a container centerpiece, or part of a woodland garden, this maple brings graceful color and structure throughout the seasons.
Why we love it:
-
Ever-changing foliage with pink, orange, red, and violet tones
-
Compact, shrubby habit perfect for borders and containers
-
Award-nominated and disease-resistant for peace of mind
