Phygelius COLORBURST™ ‘Yellow’

Common Name: Cape Fuchsia

Phygelius COLORBURST™ ‘Yellow’ brings a cheerful glow to the garden with an abundance of soft yellow flowers beautifully complemented by rich, pine-green foliage. The delicate-looking blooms rise above the lush plant, creating a striking combination of color and texture that brightens borders, containers, and mixed perennial plantings.

Native to South Africa, this garden beauty offers an impressive season of color beginning in late spring and continuing well into fall. From May through October, COLORBURST™ ‘Yellow’ produces repeated flushes of flowers, providing months of interest in the landscape. Growing approximately 20 inches tall and spreading to 28 inches wide, with flowers reaching up to 30 inches, it has enough presence to make an impact without overwhelming surrounding plants.

COLORBURST™ ‘Yellow’ performs beautifully in full sun to part shade and is winter hardy in zones 7–10 when provided with good drainage. Its soft yellow blooms pair effortlessly with nearly any garden color palette, making it a versatile choice for adding warmth and brightness throughout the growing season.

Why it's a Creekside Champion™

Phygelius COLORBURST™ ‘Yellow’ earns its place as a Creekside Champion™ because it combines beautiful foliage, an exceptionally long flowering season, and a distinctive flower color that is easy to incorporate into the garden. We love the contrast between its soft yellow blooms and deep pine-green foliage, along with its ability to provide repeated flushes of flowers from late spring through fall. Its substantial yet manageable habit works equally well in landscape beds and containers, while its adaptability to full sun or part shade gives gardeners even more opportunities to enjoy it. With months of cheerful color and dependable garden performance, COLORBURST™ ‘Yellow’ is a standout addition to the Creekside Champions™ collection.
